Claire’s Commitment Rewarded with Position on the Roll
After a lengthy personal journey of nearly two decades of intensive study and no small amount of determination, Milne Moser Solicitors are delighted to announce that Claire Maxwell was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in December and issued her Practising Certificate on 4th January, 2022.
Claire started her career as a legal secretary back in 2002 and embarked on her training as a Legal Executive two years later. Upon qualification in 2009, Claire became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
“Looking back over the last 20-years, it’s hard to believe that the younger me who set out on this career path would finally achieve my ambition to be a fully qualified and practising solicitor.” Comments Claire, who’s focus at Milne Moser in her role as Associate Solicitor will primarily be private client matters.
Claire achieved a Bachelor of Law Degree with First Class Honours in 2020 through the Open University and continued her studies thereafter.
Claire went on to study a combined Masters and Legal Practice Course through the University of Law and, in the summer of 2021, completed her last law exam and professional skill course before receiving confirmation that she had achieved an overall commendation in her Legal Practice Course (LPC) and postgraduate Masters of Law (LLM) in Professional Legal Practice.
David Emmett, Partner at Milne Moser, was one of the first to offer his congratulations: “Claire’s commitment is something that really should be highly commended and one which has gained everyone’s utmost respect here at Milne Moser.”
“To achieve these qualifications and realising her ambition to become a Solicitor, whilst also working full-time within a busy legal firm, is a great challenge for anyone. Claire has unwaveringly dedicated herself to her studies and this wonderful outcome speaking volumes for her character and ambitions.”
By being admitted to the Roll of Solicitors, Claire also automatically becomes a member of the Law Society, which demonstrates that she has also successfully complied with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Training Regulations, has passed the Legal Practice Course and completed the Professional Skills Course.
“I’ll have to admit, it feels quite special and a little relieving to be able to start the year as a fully-fledged solicitor.” Says Claire, who will be working in her new position for Milne Moser’s clients across the region.
“I’d like to thank everyone at Milne Moser for their support and would also urge anyone who is studying for a qualification or accreditation to keep at it – it may seem a long journey, but your perseverance will ultimately pay off.”
